Client Offboarding

Follow these steps when ending a business relationship with a client.

When a client has elected to no longer pay for our services we need to:

Backup the website

  1. Log in to Cloudways.
  2. Search for the client application.
  3. Identify the server being used.
  4. Access the server.
  5. Select Backup from the left navigation menu.
  6. Scroll to see if the Local Backup is enabled (toggled to On).
  7. If not, toggle to On and click Take Backup Now.

Disable Site On Cloudways

  1. Add 'Disabled' to beginning of site name to indicate it’s disabled.
  2. Make sure we disable server space access in Cloudways - under applications or something.

Cloudflare automatically removes entries upon deactivation — no manual intervention required.

Pull Backup File

  1. Log in to the site via your preferred FTP client.
  2. Locate the local_backups folder.
  3. Download the most recent backup file. FTP SS

Upload Backup to Google Drive

  1. Log in to Google Drive with your Turtlehut email credentials.
  2. Locate the Client folder.
  3. Upload backup files to the Data > Backups directory.

UptimeRobot

  1. Log in to UptimeRobot.
  2. Locate the client monitor.
  3. Click the settings icon.
  4. Select Delete.
  5. Click Save. UptimeRobot SS
